JOB TITLE: Parish Relations Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Rector

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: FLSA Classification: Non-exempt. Part-time: 25 hours/week

SUMMARY: To provide administrative support for Christ Episcopal Church to operate smoothly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Functions as staff assistant to the Priest and the Congregation;

  • Facilitates regular communication among the office, committees, and Congregation by, among other things:

  • Maintaining the church calendar which includes scheduling meetings and sending invites

  • Producing and sending the weekly newsletter which includes drafting, editing and layout;

  • Producing and sending the monthly newsletter which includes requesting information and articles for inclusion, editing, layout, printing copies place in public areas and mailing copies to those who request it;

  • Maintaining the mailing list, the church directory, the church website and the church Facebook page

  • Prepares and maintains parish records and highly confidential and sensitive reports;

  • Analyzes and interprets data; develops and prepares reports;

  • Assists with preparation for Worship Services;

  • Maintains policies, minutes and reports;

  • Submits invoices, automatic payments and other duties as requested by Treasurer

  • Answers requests which require knowledge of parish policies;

  • Attends and participates in staff meetings;

  • Maintains and orders supplies;

  • Performs other duties as assigned;

1. IBM compatible computer

2. Copier/Printer

3. Scanner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Train and/or coordinate volunteers for special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. High School diploma or equivalent certificate and some office experience.

2. Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in Updated Microsoft Office.

3. Basic understanding of and ability to troubleshoot office equipment;

4. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information;

5. Ability to work independently;

6. Respect for diversity and an ability to work well with many different people;

7. Ability to multi-task, while maintaining focus on bringing tasks to completion in a timely fashion;

8. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
