Christ Episcopal Church is doing something new this Autumn. It is called “First Sunday.”
In keeping with Christ Church’s mission statement: “To open our doors to the Holy Spirit, the community and each other,” on the first Sunday of the month, we are opening the doors of our building for most of the day to be a safe place to rest and renew. Once a month we will have special music at our 10:00 am service followed by a pot-luck brunch. Afterwards, we’ll have activities that include story-telling, quilting circle, and comfortable chairs to curl up with a book, with hot tea or cider.
It is free and open to the public.
The music for the First Sunday on November 6 will be provided by members of the bluegrass band, High and Rising. The pot-luck at 11 a.m. will be followed at 11:30 by a story-telling workshop, offered by Emilia Seay Allen, storyteller and communications director of the MN Episcopal Diocese. Following this, Elaine Hoisington will lead a quilting circle.
